The restaurant is located on the empire polo club grounds, which were also established in 1987 by alexander haagen iii, a prominent real estate developer. His son, alexander haagen IV, has also been A key figure in the operation and growth of the grounds, including its restaurants. Since 1993, the empire polo club grounds have been leased annually to goldenvoice (A subsidiary of AEG) for major music festivals like coachella and stagecoach.
